I am so pleased with how this turned out!
I will be the first to say that when I read Farseer trilogy, I didn't really like Fitz there. He was a brat. Too many things just happened around him. He kept managing all sorts up super feats. He was an ass to Molly.(and a lot of other people). I just didn't like him. and maybe that is a naivete of mine, that I want to like my protaganists, but there we are.
Anyway, in the Tawny Man trilogy, the world-building by Hobbs suddenly reaches up to me and says 'gotcha'. yes, that's right, there was a reason for everything and it gets worked out. Really.
Now, that statement would have had me shouting 'Deus ex Machina' not too long ago, but it isnt! It doesnt all get wrapped up with a ribbon either, but it does get figured out, and now I have decided that Fitz is all right. Which is such a surprise to me that it makes me very happy! (I guess I love getting proved wrong!)
