I really enjoyed this book. I was almost expecting not to, because of my own research into Irish Fianna tales, and the fact that most authors, well, they make the stuff up! But Leicht stuck with a fairly accurate basis of the 'Fair Folk' adding only that they have been warring with the Fallen Angels.
Now that would have normally bothered me, but it's just background to an interesting story of a half-fey man growing up during the turbulence of 1970 Ireland.
The book kept me interested, and had a nice finish to it. There was quite a bit of violence for those who are put off by that, but it was not gratuitous.
It wasn't perfect,(some editing could have helped) but it was definitiely a debut-worthy novel.
